Pronunciation is approximate and written for English speakers; accents vary, so ask your relatives how they say them.
Two things worth knowing
- Badbadak is built from bad (wind), and badkonak from the same word, so both are "wind" words.
- Asbab-bazi literally means "play things"; many families simply say bazi for a toy.
Easy ways to practise
- Throw and catch: say tup each time the ball changes hands.
- At the park: name the tab and the sorsoreh as the child climbs on.
- Doll play: let the arusak do the talking and have it say the words.
We have not found a study showing which method works best for heritage-language children, so treat these as ideas to try rather than a programme.
