Azizan (azizan.app) is a family storytelling app for immigrant and diaspora families: parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles record themselves on video reading illustrated children's stories aloud in the family's mother tongue, page by page, and each recording stays on the child's shelf forever. Real family voices — never AI narration. Persian (Farsi) first.
Immigrant families typically lose the home language within one to three generations. Children hear their parents' language from screens, not from people — and the relatives who speak it best, the grandparents, often live in another country and another time zone.
Azizan writes and illustrates mother-tongue children's stories built for reading aloud. One paragraph is one page, one image and one short video clip, so a 70-year-old grandmother can read a page, re-record just that page, and upload over a weak mobile connection. The recording screen is light with large type for older readers; the child's side is a permanent shelf of stories in voices they love.
Every story is recorded for someone. A parent invites a grandparent with one link; the grandparent's recording reaches the child; the child's delight brings in the next relative. Growth comes from family invitations, not paid installs.
AI can now narrate any story in any voice, which makes a real family voice more valuable, not less. Grandparents everywhere now carry smartphones and live in messaging apps, so a single invite link reaches them. Diaspora families are large, connected and actively looking for ways to keep their language.
Persian first. The format is language-agnostic; next candidate languages include Vietnamese, Korean, Indian languages and Mandarin for Western diaspora families, with Spanish as the long-term volume play.
